7 Weeks

Feeling pukey... but less bloated.

How Far along: 7 weeks

Baby size: Blueberry (about 0.5 inches)

Total weight gain: Still about 0.5 pounds.

Maternity clothes: I do have to use a rubber band on two pairs of jeans, now, but man, those maternity clothes are starting to seem really tempting. I would have to buy some though, since I don't have any left from before.

Sleep: Oh I love sleep. I feel like I don't get enough of it. I wish I could have naps every day.

Best Moment this week: Telling Chris's family. They were all very happy and excited for us.

Movement: N/A

Gender: Still thinking boy.

Labor signs: N/A

Belly button: In, not gonna change.

Cravings: Mexican Meatballs, Pad Thai. That's about the only real cravings I've had this week. Anything cinnamon is still very good.

Aversions: Eggs. Caffeine (not so much an aversion as that I'm just really sensitive to it and it makes me extra jittery and slightly queasy). The smell of coffee.

What I miss: Feeling completely normal, my pants fitting.

Stretch Marks: No new ones.

What is different this time around: Exercising when I am up to it. And by exercising I mean walking a mile and a half a few times a week. I hope that once this trimester is over I feel a bit better. I've gotten in 2.4 miles this week. Partly feeling ill, but mostly weather. Also, the only time I really get genuinely about to puke is if I wait too long to eat breakfast in the morning, or if I let myself get too hungry in general. It's AMAZING to have only a very low-grade level of nausea all the time, rather than the constant feeling of nearly puking like my previous pregnancies. Although yesterday and today have been much rougher and I nearly threw up a couple times this morning.

What I am looking forward to this week: Hopefully getting in some yoga and/or running. We'll see.

6 Weeks!

Taken in the evening, but I'm even sucking it in.. wtf.

How Far along: 6 weeks

Baby size: The size of a sweet pea.

Total weight gain: Eh, lost like 0.4 pounds.

Maternity clothes: I've been holding one pair of jeans closed with a rubber band. But no actual maternity clothes yet.

Sleep: I got to take naps this weekend. On Mothers Day, Chris said he couldn't believe I took a 2 1/2 hour nap and still was ready for bed by 9:30. He apparently forgot the first few months of pregnancy from the last two.

Best Moment this week: Mother's Day breakfast with the family.

Movement: N/A

Gender: Still think boy.

Labor signs: N/A

Belly button: In, not gonna change.

Cravings: Lemon bars, lemonade...lemon/lime lotion (not to eat, just to sniff) (early in the week), but if it's actually sour it is not good. Sea Salt Caramel Gelato, Cinnamon bears (OMG CINNAMON BEARS), chai. Cinnamon rolls. Cinnamon cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting I was actually able to snarf down without caution (not really a craving but it was a good impromptu snack). Cinnamon gum.  Chocolate croissant. Beef jerky.

Aversions: Food...empty stomach... Unfortunately Bunsen doesn't seem to like tomato-based pasta sauce, with pasta. So... yeah. Oh, and eggs. Just the smell, or the word "eggs"... almost made me lose it.

What I miss: Not having morning sickness (which kicked in on Mothers Day. Thanks, baby.)

Stretch Marks: No new ones.

What is different this time around: Still exercising :-)! And... actually wanting pepperminty stuff in my face. Yeah that's about it that I hadn't covered yet. Also, I made it to 6 weeks and haven't puked yet. So I don't know how that compares to previously, but I know that by 7 weeks with James I had thrown up a number of times.

What I am looking forward to this week: More running, I'd like to get 6+ miles in again, and do prenatal yoga at least once in the coming week. I may be overly optimistic with this. Chris's older brother and his family are going to be in town on Sunday, so we're seeing them, and Saturday is the annual Mike the Headless Chicken Day party, so that will be awesome.

5 Weeks Pregnant!

So.. not a baby bump yet, obvs. Just bloat like woah.

How Far along: 5 weeks. Seriously?

Baby size: About the size of an apple seed.

Total weight gain: 0.8 pounds, but that's not really anything. I weighed that 2 weeks ago.

Maternity clothes: N/A, but this bloat is crazy and I definitely change my clothes as soon as I get home. Pressure on my belly isn't comfortable.

Sleep: I love sleep. Sleep is awesome. Dee has been sleeping all night the last few nights, so it's been nice.

Best Moment this week: Watching Chris get happier about this pregnancy, and feeling better about it myself. Also, James asked me on Saturday if maybe we would be a family of 5 like the Berenstain Bears (the kids don't know yet).

Movement: N/A

Gender: I can't imagine anything other than boy. He *feels* like a boy. I'm calling him Dr. Bunsen Honeydew for now (or just Bunsen).

Labor signs: N/A

Belly button: In, and expected to be in for the duration.

Cravings: Lemon curd, lemon drops, lemon bars, lemonade...lemon/lime lotion (not to eat, just to sniff), but if it's actually sour it is not good. Croissants, chai tea.

Aversions: the smell of pizza (ew), the idea of McDonalds (the first time I had nausea related to anything I couldn't actually smell was a McD commercial), and Bunsen does not like pears, or cheese (sad). I also can only do one cup of fully caffeinated coffee per day. If I have a second one in the afternoon it makes me all jittery and queasy. Sweet stuff that isn't lemony isn't very appealing either. Chocolate just doesn't taste right, and I don't really want to eat it.

What I miss: Food sounding good in general, my flat belly that I only had for a few weeks...

Stretch Marks: No new ones.

What is different this time around: Still exercising, yay! And the lemon thing. I'm pretty sure I never craved lemon stuff with either kid. I also made it to 5 weeks not puking or feeling really sick, so YAY! So far nausea has been mild at its worst, and I'm hoping it stays that way. Also, when I was doing prenatal yoga last night, I noticed that I was able to do WAY more than when I was pregnant with Dee doing the same video. I am so much stronger and fitter, and I feel so much better about myself and my body!

What I am looking forward to this week: Getting my sample of essential oils that hopefully will assuage nausea/morning sickness when it arrives. More running, I'd like to get 6+ miles in again, and do prenatal yoga at least once in the coming week.

Delilah is 3!!!

We had a Fairy Party for Miss Delilah's 3rd birthday at my mom's house. She was thrilled, but apparently not in the mood to keep her wings on for any pictures. I'll eventually get one of her with her wings so I can show you guys.

Sitting in front of the Fairy Treats Table

The food table had the following (with labels, of course!): Fairy Cakes (vanilla cupcakes with strawberry buttercream frosting), fruits and veggies "From the Fairies' Garden" (raspberries, strawberries, purple cauliflower, baby carrots, and sugar snap peas); Toadstools (Baby Bell Cheese); Shooting Stars (yogurt star cookies); Magic Wands (yogurt star cookies attached to breasticks); Fairy Pillows (vanilla cupcake kettle corn); Kelpie Treats (seaweed and veggie straws). It was all a big hit!!
